Yindjibarndi Energy Corporation is developing a portfolio of large‑scale renewable energy projects on Yindjibarndi Ngurra in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. These projects are designed to deliver reliable, long‑term clean energy at scale, while embedding Indigenous leadership, ownership and responsibility at every stage of development.
YEC’s portfolio includes wind, solar and energy storage developments with the potential to deliver up to 3GW of capacity, supporting the decarbonisation of one of Australia’s most emissions‑intensive industrial regions and enabling the growth of emerging green industries.

All YEC projects are developed in partnership between Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation and ACEN, ensuring that Traditional Owners hold meaningful equity participation (between 25 and 50 per cent at project level) and retain primary land tenure across project areas. This model is designed to deliver lasting value for the Yindjibarndi people.

The Pilbara is well positioned for renewable energy development, with world‑class solar and wind resources, proximity to major industrial loads and growing demand for clean power from mining, processing and emerging green industries.
YEC’s projects are strategically located within the Yindjibarndi Native Title Determination Areas, across approximately 13,000 square kilometres of Country. This geography allows for carefully planned, large‑scale developments that support common‑use infrastructure, reduce duplication and minimise cumulative impacts on land and landscapes.
The portfolio is being developed in stages, enabling early generation while maintaining flexibility to respond to market demand, infrastructure readiness and regulatory approvals.
YEC’s development strategy is structured around two key renewable energy hubs: the Chichester Range Renewable Energy Hub and the Eastern Development Zone Renewable Energy Hub. Together, these hubs form the backbone of YEC’s more than 1.5 gigawatts of wind, solar, BESS and related infrastructure projects currently in development in Western Australia.
Each project is assessed and advanced independently, while contributing to a broader, integrated renewable energy portfolio on Yindjibarndi Country.
