Our community begins with the Yindjibarndi people, our co owners and cultural custodians.
As Traditional Owners of the land on which Yindjibarndi Energy Corporation operates, the Yindjibarndi are at the heart of every decision we make. Their leadership, cultural knowledge and connection to Country guide how projects are planned, assessed and delivered.

Community engagement for YEC is not a parallel process to development. It is embedded in our governance, ownership and way of working. Through meaningful equity participation and primary land tenure, the Yindjibarndi play a central role in shaping outcomes that align with cultural values, community aspirations and long term self determination.
This approach provides the foundation for how YEC engages more broadly across the Pilbara, including with the communities of Roebourne, Karratha and surrounding areas where our projects operate. By leading with Yindjibarndi priorities and values, YEC seeks to ensure renewable energy development contributes positively to the social, cultural and economic wellbeing of the wider region.
